….you look twice when a car without a driver passes you by….then you have to remind yourself that in England the driver seat is on the right.
….and that’s why you need to look to the LEFT first and then to the RIGHT when crossing a street.
..there is a pull chord hanging down from the ceiling in the bathroom. I found that charming that the light in the bathroom were lit that way and I was explained that the reason for having that was that after a long soak in the bath or a shower, any condensation that collects on the wall could run down into the back of the switch cover…
…when you burn your hands in the washbasin. Something that annoyed me though was the washbasin with hot and cold water taps. From one tap it came burning hot water and from the other one ice cold water…how on earth are you supposed to mix without being burned?? I like to wash my hands carefully and also use a nailbrush to have my nails and hands superclean…but it’s impossible to use the water for more than a couple of seconds before you almost want to scream out of pain. I was told that some people turn on the hot water and use it quickly before it becomes too hot…and if you are not quick enough you have to turn on the cold and swing your hands between the two. Another solution was to put the plug and fill the basin with cold and hot water and wash your hands in there. But then the basin would get dirty and you have to desinfect it everytime before the procedure….
