Musée Jacquemart André – when I visited the exhibition “Désirs et Volupté” I took the opportunity to have a tour in other parts of the museum out of the room where the acctual exhibition was held.
I must mention I appreciated the fact that this museum wasn’t overcrowded like Louvre, Musée D’Orsay and Grand Palais. I felt like beeing in a palace and I was amazed with the lovely and charming interior. Beautiful paintings, gilded details…and lot’s of marble…I love marble! The former owners Edouard André and Nélie Jacquemart, a collectors couple, lived in this mansion that was built in 1875. Yes, seems like they had separate bedrooms (see photos below), but who wouldn’t in such a palace? My favourite parts in this mansion was the stunning Winter Garden and the private apartments, see photos below. Wandering around in that piece of heaven was a total bliss. My dream home nr.1, no doubts!
