Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris is the perfect choice if location, luxury in a modern setting and shopping are your top priorities when staying in Paris. It’s located at the fashionable street, Rue St Honoré filled with luxury boutiques, but if you’re not into shopping, like me, the lovely park Jardin des Tuileries is nearby and one of my favourite museums Musée D’Orsay on the other side if the river Seine.
I’ve never stayed at Mandarin Oriental myself, but in late August my friend Carol invited me for an Afternoon Tea and we were guided through the hotel.
Magenta is the hotels signature color which you could see in many places of the hotel such as the butterflies and swarowski crystals adding a feminie touch. Personally I’m not a big fan of modern architecture or interior..that’s one of the reasons why I left Scandinavia for Paris ;-) BUT I did find some details in Mandarin Oriental Hotel that I liked very much and that was the sketches and photos by Ali Mahdavi and the photos by Man Ray..adding style, glamour and a romantic touch…
The restaurant Sur Mesure where Thierry Marx is the Executive Chef was closed at the moment but it’s a restaurant I would love to try as I’ve heard so much about Thierry Marx magical cookings :-) They have only 40 seatings which makes the restaurant to an intime place to have dinner at and they change their menu every week. Their food must be very good as apparantly many of their fidèle clients are Parisians…
