Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental in Paris
The highlight of mine and Carols visit was ofcourse the Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris where we endulged ourselves with the most prettiest and exquisite pastries. As it was pretty hot we acctucally skipped the tea and Carol asked for mineral water with bubbles and fresh mint leaves to make us some refreshing iced mint spritzer. Before heading out for a seat in the lush and peaceful garden we went to Camélia, the second restaurant with a more modern touch at Mandarin Oriental Hotel where they also have a pastry shop, and browsed through the pastries as we could choose one for our Afternoon Tea.
After a while the waiter came to our table with several bento boxes….I was so excited to see what surprises where waiting for us. The first one was containing three sandwhiches, one with mozzarella and tomatoes, one with salmon and a third one with ham…which I picked out as I don’t eat meat…..
The second bento box was filled with pretty miniature pastries that we shared. In the third bento box was our “gourmandise”, our choice of dessert from the cake shop. Carol had chosen the lemon meringue pie…was I even surprised? ;-) Me on the other side, I couldn’t resist the peach pie, topped with gold, a great choice ! Next time I would also like to try their Le Saint-Honoré and their signature pastry Mandarin. I always find great reasons to return ;-)
Thanks Carol and Mandarin Oriental Hotel for this lovely sweet treat !

:) Hugs & sunshine, dear!
