Exhibition Cartier – Grand Palais

Cartier exhibition at Grand Palais in Paris
The sparkling exhibition of Cartier, one of France’s iconic companies, at Grand Palais is getting closer to it’s final day and if you have not visited it yet, you have until February 16th to do so. Not because the exhibition in itself was any extraordinary…but the objets, I’m talking about 600 jewels (the oldest dating 1847), watches, sketches, paintings and clothes that has been selected for this very unique exhibition were worth seeing.  Tiaras, one made in 1936 and worn by Queen Elizabeth, jewelleries worn by Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, world’s royals, heiresses, celebrities, socialites…all having one thing incommon, beeing passionated about shining, sparkling diamonds..no matter wars or economic depressions.

Note that the exhibition only displays jewelleries dated until 1970’s, meaning you won’t see their later creations, but then, their flagship boutique at 13 rue de la Paix is not that far away ;-)
