My very own bike in Paris

biking-paris-02On Saturday I had my bike delivered. Yes! I have finally found a bike with pedal breaks :-) The guy I bought it from had also put a basket and other few things in his bike atelier so it was practically ready to use for me. I had a tour with it rightaway. In Paris there are very few bike trails…so I had to share the streets with cars, motorcycles etc…and it was chaos, nobody is following the rules and the traffic lights are definately not placed in a logic way. I guess I’ve been spoiled in Copenhagen by their great cycle infrastructure. Anyhow, it was wonderful to be on a bike again…and exploring Paris by bike is such a freedom compared to be stucked in a overcrowded metro.

Enjoy your bike but remember that everything is a point of view: I am sure that if I go to Copenhagen, I will find the traffic signs very disturbing from what I am used to in France ;)
Though I would totally agree that in the latest years, the organization of Traffic in Paris has grown very illogical!
