Biking in Paris

christianiabike-parisWhen I moved to Paris I promised myself not to abandon the freedom of getting everywhere by having a bike. In Copenhagen I used my bike to and from work every single day (even through heavy rain and snowy days) and I’m not a big fan of taking the metro in Paris…so I’ve been looking for a bike since I came here. I would like to have a bike with coaster brake (back pedal brake) but it seems to be a challenge finding one with that type of brakes here. In Sweden and Holland it’s very common with coaster brakes though but I will just have to keep looking. Until then I will walk to and from work, luckily that only takes me 25 minutes from door to door. As I have written before I would love to have my own motorcycle and license but given the load of work I have for the moment I won’t sign up for a course until January next year…

The other day I saw a Christiania bike on one of the streets in Paris. Wow! My heart jumped and I just had to take a photo of it. A piece of Denmark was in front of me and it totally warmed my heart <3 One thing is for sure, the owner is lucky having such a bike :-)
