Café Egoïste

Café Egoïste is a café situated in the new shopping-mall in central Stockholm called MOOD. A friend of mine invited me for a traditional Swedish “fika” there when I was in Stockholm for the weekend. We shared a giant cardamom bun (they are famous for their giant cardamom buns and cinnamon buns!) and I had a cup of hot chocolate (served in my favourite cup) and some whipped cream aside. Was delicious as always!

Café Egoïste is owned by Erik Videgård and Café Saturnus (where all their pastries and breads are baked and they recieve them freshly baked from Café Saturnus twice a day). Café Saturnus was a café I visited frequently when I was living in Stockholm…I was truly addicted to their cardamom buns! And so was princess Madeleine of Sweden, that I saw there several times before she moved to New York. Here and here are some of my old blogposts about Café Saturnus ;-)

While Café Saturnus is more designed as a French boulangerie & patisserie Café Egoïste is more New York with its industrial details in the interior…still with French cakes and food. I recommend them both :-)
