Today I went to Taschen, one of my favourite book stores, and had a look on their latest arrivals. Found Three legends , Monroe by Mailer and Stern– now on my wish list ;-)

The book is about the beautiful yet tragic story behind Monroe, a complex woman, she is recognized as a sex symbol for many and the image I have of her is ofcourse that she was a beautiful woman and I also find her extraordinary, intelligent and smart. Many saw her as a dumb blonde but behind the image she had created she was aware of the very difference between illusions and reality and that is why I find her so bright. I have no idea how Mailer has described her in this book…but I’m curious and would love to read his version and I simply love the intimate photos Stern took on Marilyn Monroe…the last ones ever taken.
