Who wouldn’t dream about having a picnic in the gardens of a fairy tale castle with a breathtaking view over a vineyard? Last weekend this dream became true. Parisbreakfast and I were invited for a vineyard tour, wine tasting and a picnic in the vines. Read about our adventure below. Comte Yves du Petit Thouars guided us around on the vineyard The Cabernet Franc grapes…. Dimitri joined us as well, I guess Bear was happy with that ;-) The wine cellar….where the wines are aged in French oak casks…it smelled so good… In their historic tasting room we tried their red, chenin and rosé. Their wines can be found at La Grande Epicérie in Paris and at Systembolaget in Sweden? Not bad as I live almost in front of La Grand Epicerie and I can tell my dad in Sweden to enjoy this lovely wine. The fairy tale castle Château du Petit Thouars These pink roses where growing in the garden… Sébastien and pretty E leading us to our picnic spot… Me and Parisbreakfast followed… The view of the castle from our picnic spot And the view over the vineyard…couldn’t have had a better place to have a picnic E made sure everything looked ok on our table before she left with her dad..leaving me, Parisbreakfast and Bear to enjoy the picnic Potatoesalad, cheese, baguette, wine..we were spoiled The rosé was a delight! We split the delicious tartlette’s The picnic had come to an end..but I would love to go there for a visit again….
