Belvédère is a very small village located on a hill top and a part of the commune Belvédère-Campomoro. Campomoro is a small fishing village, around 6 km from Belvédère and the total number of inhabitants in the commune was 153 in 2012. So I guess not more than 50 people are living in the village Belvédère (pronounced Belvidè in corse). I had been browsing Airbnb for days until I finally found a host that had recieved hundreds of positive reviews, who had an authentic Corsican house made of stone dating 1850, and with a host who offered homemade breakfast but also a “table d’hôte” and also only had one room to rent, which makes the stay personal. When I travel I prefer genuine and local experiences, so I made a request and reserved this Corsican home for a few days…
On the photo above you can see a part of the house on the hilltop.
One of the magical sunsets seen from the house.
I could stand for a while just appreciating the sunsets..
