Oú bruncher à Paris ? (where to brunch in Paris) Try Mama Shelter ! Not long ago me and my dear friend Jo decided to try out Mama Shelter‘s brunch since we already are big fans of “her” kitchen ;-)
Mama’s “all-you-can-eat” brunch consisted of a range of everything you expect having on a brunch, continental breakfast, hot foods…and simply delicious pastries. Having a sweet tooth I must confess all I wanted was to jump over to the dessert section..but I did have a healthy plate with some salmon, velouté, cheese and bread to begin with ;-)
My all time favourite at Mama Shelter‘s brunch was their pavlova with lemoncurd (see photos below) a pure delight!
What I missed on their brunch was their yummie homemade ice cream! It would have been the cherry on the top ;-) (Hint… Mama…if you read this you should consider offering it)
Further I wish they would have had smaller portions of the desserts, some of them, for example the crème brûlée was served in way to big dishes…and I hate wasting food…yet I wanted to have a taste of all sweet things Mama was offering….so it was kind of tricky for me there. Also, as the foodie I am I wanted to know what I was having and I wish they would have description cards next to each dish…
All in all I would definately go back for brunch at Mama and for the 42€ I paid it was totally worth it.
After this brunch me and my friend were feeling kind of “stuffed” (no wonder..) and since I had never visited the mythical cemetery Père Lachaise (where Jim Morrisson, Edith Piaf and Oscar Wilde among others are housing) that is situated not very far from Mama Shelter we chose to stroll around there. Definately worth a visit if you are having you’re way by….
